There has been speculation galore as to just who ‘Inception’ star Joseph Gordon-Levitt was set to play in the Christopher Nolan’s upcoming Batman sequel ‘The Dark Knight Rises’. I think most of us were hopeful for the part to be that of The Riddler, but of course the film was already piling up with baddies so it didn’t seem feasible that another should be squeezed it. Well according to Variety the role will in fact be for Alberto Falcone. Alberto (also known as the ‘The Holiday Killer’) is the son of mobster Carmine Falcono who was played by Tom Wilkinson all the way back in ‘Batman Begins’. Gordon-Levitt will star alongside newcomers Anne Hathaway (Catwoman) and Tom Hardy (Bane) and of course returning stars Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman and the deep voiced caped crusader himself played by Christian Bale. Check out a little more about Alberto Falcone below in the character description.

“A nonexistent part of the family business, Alberto was ostracized by his father who, despite his young son’s enthusiasm, was determined only to include Mario and Sofia in his crooked activities. It’s been said that Alberto was Carmine’s favourite son and for that reason wanted him to have a normal life. Alberto, unfortunately, wanted anything but.”
