‘Source Code’ scribe Ben Ripley is being tapped by Columbia Pictures to knock out a script for the remake of 1990 horror flick ‘Flatliners’. You remember the one!? The Joel Schmucher movie which starred Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, Kevin Bacon, William Baldwin and Oliver Platt as a group of med students who stop each others hearts to revive them shortly after. Unfortunately for these little rascals they are haunted by nightmares from their past soon afterward. Laurence Mark is set to produce the new redo. A few years back there was talk of a ‘Flatliners’ TV show which Stephen Susco (‘The Grudge’) was penning, but this project seemed to have flatlined itself.
“A group of medical students who decide to embark on a dangerous experiment to learn more about the afterlife. Each has their heart stopped and is soon after revived. They begin having flashes of walking nightmares from their childhood, reflecting sins they committed or had committed against them.”
