‘Seven’, ‘Fight Club’ and ‘The Social Network’. Three of my favourite films from the past 20 years and all from the brilliance of filmmaker David Fincher. So I certainly am excited for his new thriller ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’. Due out this Christmas and starring Daniel Craig (‘Dream House’) and the gorgeous Rooney Mara (‘The Social Network’) ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ is a re-adaption of the novel ‘Män som hatar kvinnor’ by author Stieg Larsson, which was previously turned into a Swedish thriller of the same name which was helmed by Niels Arden Oplev. And now a new poster has been revealed amongst the barrage of various assets and virals that have popped up online over the past few weeks from the production. Stellan Skarsgård, Robin Wright, Embeth Davidtz, Joel Kinnaman, Joely Richardson, Goran Visnjic, Yorick van Wageningen, Julian Sands, Geraldine James and Steven Berkoff all co-star in the English-language adaption. Check out the new poster below.
“One fateful day several years ago, Harriet Vanger disappeared off the secluded island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger family. There was no corpse, no witnesses and no evidence. Nearly forty years later, investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) reluctantly accepts the unusual and seemingly unsolvable assignment of finding out what really happened to Harriet. Genius hacker, Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara) is drawn into the case and the two form a fragile alliance as they dig into the sinister past of the Vangers and find out just how far they’re prepared to go to protect themselves and each other.”
‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ arrives from 21 December stateside and from the 26 December here in the UK.
