James Wan is a talented fellow and has successfully integrated himself into horror history simply by co-creating ‘Saw’ the genre’s most successful franchise of all time. Since then he’s given us dummy terror in ‘Dead Silence’, revenge thrills in ‘Death Sentence’ and not to mention last year’s creepy ‘Insidious’, an applauded nod to the likes of ‘Poltergeist’. And now, according to Wan himself through the medium of Twitter, the filmmaker will be tackling the life story of Ed and Lorraine Warren – two famous 1950’s paranormal investigators. The Warren’s famously were involved in the Amityville haunting investigation and claimed to investigated over 10,000 hauntings! IT’s a bit unknown now whether Wan will be back to direct ‘Insidious 2’ due to the similarity in themes between the two stories. Wan also penned the new Xavier Gens (‘The Divide’) helmed project ‘House of Horror’ which hopefully we’ll see in theatres at some point next year. Read all about the Warren’s story below.
“The Warrens founded the New England Society for Psychic Research in 1952 and later opened the Occult Museum. They are the authors of numerous books about the paranormal and their own private investigations into various hauntings. They claimed to have investigated over 10,000 hauntings during their career, and as previously stated he Warrens were among the very first investigators in the controversial Amityville haunting.
The Warrens were responsible for training several current paranormal investigating demonologists including Dave Considine, the late Lou Gentile, and their nephew John Zaffis.”
