Russell Brand may be a little down in the dumps following his break up with hottie pop star Katy Perry but the Brandster has jumped right back into his acting career by signing up to Platinum Dunes and Paramount Pictures new haunted house horror related project ‘The Hauntrepreneur’. Scott Rosenberg (‘Con Air’) has provided the spec for the project and the hunt for a director is now on. Platinum Dunes, headed by Michael Bay (‘Transformers’), Brad Fuller and Andrew Form, haven’t had a release since ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ back in 2010. Brand (below) you may recall was rumoured to be starring in the adaption of classic Brit TV show ‘Rentaghost’ which has since been taken over by funnyman Ben Stiller. So at least Russell has found a suitable horror-themed replacement. He’ll be seen next starring in Adam Shankman’s musical ‘Rock of Ages’ alongside Tom Cruise and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
“The story revolves around a family that has trouble adjusting to a new town and hires a peculiar man who calls himself the Hauntrepreneur to help them. In an attempt to bring them together, the man creates a haunted house filled with an odd cast of characters.”
