Now this is just the type of news to kick off the weekend with. ‘The Avengers’ sexy star Scarlett Johansson has signed up to appear in Sacha Gervasi’s ‘Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho’. The title pretty much tells it all and is a biographical tale of classic British-born director Hitchcock. The story of Alf, who’ll be played by Anthony Hopkins, revolves around the filmmakers struggle in getting his hugely successful slasher flick ‘Psycho’ made back in the early 60’s. Helen Mirren is set to star as Hitchcock’s wife Alma Reville and Johansson (below) is set to play the role of actress Janet Leigh (Jamie Lee Curtis’ mother) who famously was killed off very early into the film in the iconic ‘shower scene’. So Scarlett showering up!? Sign me up. No word yet as to who will take the role of Anthony Perkins, who starred in the 1960 thriller as Norman Bates – but we’re pretty sure it won’t be Vince Vaughn! The film is based on the book by Stephen Rebello which in turn has been developed for the big screen by ‘Black Swan’ scribe John McLaughlin.
