‘Robocop’ star Kurtwood Smith, better known as Red Forman in the popular sitcom ‘That 70’s Show’, is the latest to sign up to Sacha Gervasi’s new Hitchcock project ‘Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho’. The 60’s set biopic, based on Hitch’s struggles in getting his classic slasher flick ‘Psycho’ off the ground, is based on the book by Stephen Rebello which has been adapted for the screen by ‘Black Swan’ scribe John McLaughlin. Smith (below) joins a whole raft of talent including Sir Anthony Hopkins, who’ll play the filmmaker maestro, Scarlett Johansson (‘The Avengers’), Helen Mirren, Jessica Biel (‘The Tall Man’), James D’Arcy, Danny Huston, Wallace Langham, Michael Wincott and Toni Collette (‘The Sixth Sense’). The 68 year old actor will play the head of the Motion Picture Production Code, Geoffrey Shurlock. The MPPC were the censorship body active at the time of ‘Psycho’s release.
