Entertainment Weekly have been showing off their Summer Movie previews and amongst the slew of stills unleashed in the pages is a couple of new pics of Colin Farrell (‘Phone Booth’) in memory-loss action in Len Wiseman’s ‘Total Recall’ remake. The Mars-less redo hits theatres everywhere this coming August and will hopefully bring a freshness to what was strictly one of the most iconic sci-fi movies ever made when it was first adapted for the big screen in the form of Paul Verhoeven’s 1990 cult classic, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone. The Wiseman helmed flick also stars Jessica Biel (‘The Tall Man’), Kate Beckinsale (‘Underworld’), Bryan Cranston (‘Drive’, ‘Breaking Bad’), Bill Nighy (‘Shaun of the Dead’) and Ethan Hawke (‘Daybreakers’) and you can check out the new stills below.
“Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he’s got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) whom he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston) – there is no one Quaid can trust, except possibly a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) working for the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy). The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.”
‘Total Recall’ opens from 3 August in the US and from 29 August in the UK.
