HOUSE OF THE DEAD LIVE
‘Nick E’ over at Joblo wrote in to let them know that the official site for the upcoming arcade game-turned-movie HOUSE OF THE DEAD is, quite ironically, now live!
But, good lord! What has the world of film come to when the highly anticipated second coming of the Zombie genre already seems to be running out of gas? And I mean that both figuratively and literally… run out of gas, stuck in the middle of nowhere, on a deserted road, lights on in a house, in the woods… Yeah, you get the picture, just like HOUSE OF 1,000 CORPSES. Only this time it’s about a bunch of kids going to a remote island for the rave of a lifetime. But guess what?… Yup!… Zombies!
Honestly though, couldn’t they think of anything better than this for the first line of the synopsis to a zombie flick: ‘It’s Spring Break and college co-eds CYNTHIA, GREG and KARMA just want to party.’ Oi! It’s particularly bad considering the film is based on one of the most original arcade games of the past decade, and trust me, it didn’t have anything to do with sexually promiscuous teens or a rave.
Obviously, it’s kind of early to tell for sure whether this’ll hit or miss, but in the meantime, it may be more worthwhile to spend your money on 28 DAYS LATER or the awesome looking Australian zombie flick UNDEAD, and hope that this isn’t just some teen horror flick disguised as a flesh-eating zombie fest. You can check out the official site, which contains a bunch of goodies including the first trailer for the flick, by clicking here. Check out some of the images featured at the site below…
