CHAOS SICKENS ALL
Every now and then a film comes in so far under the radar that when we find out about it’s hard to believe we hadn’t been covering it since it’s inception. Of course, with a movie like ‘Chaos’ (aka ‘House In The Middle of Nowhere’), we probably would’ve written it off as yet another rip-off of ‘Last House On The Left’…
A reader who calls himself Jeff, however, has made me wonder. The Creature Corner got an e-mail from him last night stating he had seen the movie, and aside from the fairly contrived plotline (two maniacs rape and kill some girls, and end up accidentally crashing in one of the girls’ parents house), ‘Chaos’ may have something a lot of people have been looking for.
Brutality.
‘It is nothing short of the film equivalent of a fist to the sack, leaving you mouth-opened, gasping at the screen. I have never been in a screening and seen so many people offended to the point of, not only leaving, but shouting at the film and it’s makers as they huffed from the theater. At least a third of the audience left before the half-way point of the film. I was as amazed by this, as I was of the film…I was sitting next to a distributor, who uttered, as the lights came up, ‘No one will touch this thing with a ten foot pole.’
Raw, unflinching and sickening, this is the ‘return to the true horror movie’ that people, as of late have claimed to have made. Forget WRONG TURN or HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES, this movie is the real deal.’
We can imagine right off the bat this has piqued the interest of many of you, especially the ones that were disappointed by the raw violence of ‘Wrong Turn’. Keep in mind, however, that this e-mail came out of nowhere, so it is very possible that this is simply a plant, someone involved in the production of the film raving about how great it is to raise interest…we may never know.
Attempts to dig up some more info on it haven’t come to much, but all that is known is that it was directed by David (‘Back Lot Murders’) DeFalco, and has David Hess as a racist sheriff trying to find the killers. Anyone out there with any more info please e-mail us about it…
