THE NEWLY R-RATED 'EVIL DEAD' REMAKE HITTING THEATRES ONE WEEK EARLY

Groovy! Now with the MPAA slapping a blood thirsty R rating, full of plentiful heaps of strong bloody violence and gore, some sexual content and language on to Fede Alvarez's reimagined 'Evil Dead' let's get it here sooner. Producer, star of the original and all round ledge Bruce Campbell has taken to Twitter to reveal that Ghost House Pictures' 'Evil Dead' remake will be hitting US theatres one week earlier than exepected. Moving it from its previously scheduled 12th April opening back to the 5th. Jane Levy ('Suburgatory'), Shiloh Fernandez ('Red Riding Hood'), Jessica Lucas ('Cloverfield'), Lou Taylor Pucci ('Carriers') and Elizabeth Blackmore all star in the Alvarez helmed project penned by Alvarez, Rodo Sayagues and a little help from Diablo Cody.

"Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead. An archaeologist's tape recording reveals that the ancient text was discovered among the Khandarian ruins of a Sumerian civilization. Playing the taped incantations, the youths unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival."

No word on whether this earlier US date will impact at all on its expected 19th April release here in the UK.
