‘Hanna’ star Saoirse Ronan (below) is the latest to be cast in Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut ‘How to Catch a Monster’. Ronan will be seen this year in both the upcoming Andrew Niccol helmed sci-fi thriller ‘The Host’ as well as Neil Jordan’s vampire drama ‘Byzantium’. The 18 year old actress joins Christina Hendricks (‘Mad Men’), Eva Mendes (‘Training Day’) and ‘Doctor Who’ star Matt Smith on the project which is set to kick off production this May. Gosling will helm direct from a script he himself penned and will no doubt open up yet another door to the man’s unending list of enviable talents.
“Weaving elements of fantasy noir and suspense into a modern day fairytale, How to Catch a Monster is set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city. Billy, a single mother of two, is swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town. Both Billy and Bones must dive deep into the mystery, if their family is to survive.”
