Coming hot from the successful whispers surrounding the ‘Evil Dead’ premiere at SXSW in the past few days is news that a potential sequel is already in the planning stages. Director Fede Alvarez told the audience during a Q&A sesh that he has already begun working on the screenplay for a follow-up. Now that’s confidence in your product. It’s by no means a total certainty but with the cash registers that’ll likely start ringing away come the 5th April when ‘Evil Dead’ hits theatres we’re guessing it’ll become a no brainer.
In addition to this news nugget comes reports that producer Rob Tapert has also re-clarified ‘The Evil Dead 4’ rumours spouting about last week. Apparently it’ll more likely be an ‘Army of Darkness 2’. At any rate its all good stuff and will keep us Deadites very happy indeed.
