The Story

“I am proud to have created a movie about strong women,” says star Laura Meadows. “Myrna actually slugs it out with men and women alike. When I was filming the fight scene with the truck driver, he said, ‘Come on, I can take it!’ He was actually wrapped in pillows so he wouldn’t get hurt! There’s also a strong female foe I had to slug it out with. Not that I’m advocating violence, but women are large and in charge in Blood Before Bitcoin. I’m proud of the whole team for portraying women in roles of power, strength, and intelligence.”
Meadows credits her fierce performance to a deeply personal source of inspiration. “I drew inspiration from my great-aunt, Iona Aileen Meadows Hatch, a strong hillbilly woman from the Ozarks who was kind and generous to family but mean as a barrel of snakes if you crossed her,” Meadows shares. “She was a Senior Olympics champion who won so many awards, year after year, and she even appeared on The David Letterman Show to celebrate her accomplishments. I dedicate my performance, and the inspiration behind it, to her.”
