Lionsgate have announced not only an official release date for their upcoming David Gelb (‘Jiro Dreams of Sushi’) helmed sci-fi horror but also a total title change. Formerly known as ‘Reawakening’ the ‘Re-Animator’-esque feature will now be retitled ‘Lazarus’. Produced by Blumhouse Productions the project is heading for a US release from 30 January 2015. ‘Lazarus’ stars the gorgeous Olivia Wilde (‘TRON: Legacy’) plus a number of TV stars that includes ‘The League’s Mark Duplass, ‘American Horror Story’s Evan Peters, ‘Community’s Donald Glover and ‘Once Upon a Time’ Irish hottie Sarah Bolger. Gelb directs from a script co-penned by both Luke Dawson and Jeremy Slater.
“The film follows a team of scientists who discover an experimental serum with the potential to bring the dead back to life. After losing his or her own daughter, the team’s lead scientist tests the serum on her corpse, leading to terrifying results.”
