‘The Conjuring’ spin-off doll horror ‘Annabelle’ has snared a couple of new cast members. The brave souls set to face the terrifying demonic doll, based on the true story by paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, are British actress Annabelle Wallis (‘X-Men: First Class’) and Ward Horton (‘The Wolf of Wall Street’). The New Line production is set to be directed by John Leonetti who will helm from a script written by Gary Dauberman. Filming is set to begin over in LA on 27 January. James Wan will serve as an executive producer on the spin-off based entirely on the story within a story from this year’s huge horror hit ‘The Conjuring’. It was most certainly one of the most unsettling moments in the movie and so we’ll be very much looking forward to how this story expands.
Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren (featured in ‘The Conjuring’) looked into the case of the possessed ‘Annabelle’ doll back in the 1970’s in which a college student who was gifted the doll from a hobby store arrived home each evening to discover it had moved from its original location. These events escalated into more disturbing occurrences revolving around the doll which eventually lead to the Warrens investigation and utlimately being locked permanently inside a glass cabinet in the Warrens house.
