Heed warning of the new promotional trailer for FX’s upcoming horror series ‘The Strain’. The show is set to make its debut on the network this coming June with series developer Guillermo del Toro at the helm for the pilot. The show is based on the novel by author Chuck Hogan and revolves around a modern day viral outbreak that is similar to an ancient evil strain of vampirism. ‘The Strain’ stars Corey Stoll (‘House of Cards’), Sean Astin (‘Cabin Fever 3’), Kevin Durand (‘Lost’), Natalie Brown, Jonathan Hyde (‘The Mummy’), Richard Sammel, Robert Maillet, Jack Kesy, Ben Hyland, Miguel Gomez and Mia Maestro. “The series tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers, wage war for the fate of humanity itself.”
The premiere season of ‘The Strain’ debuts on FX on 13 July and will run for 13 episodes.
