Good news and bad news folks. The bad news is that production on ‘Resident Evil 6’ has been halted, the good news is that it’s all due to star Milla Jovovich (below) expecting another baby. The actress revealed the news over on her official Facebook page and it looks like they were pretty darn close to shooting the movie over in Cape Town, South Africa. The pregnancy of course will put Milla out of action, at least for the physical requirements of Alice, for the next year with production looking to get into gear once more next Summer. Her husband Paul W.S. Anderson has been working on the script so it looks like he now has got plenty of time to tweak it to perfection. The sixth installment, which has now been confirmed by Milla herself as ‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’, will follow Alice and her crew as they rush to The Hive, where The Red Queen plots total destruction over the human race.
Here’s what Milla had to say:
“Happy Monday everyone!
This was originally going to be a post to tell you how excited I am about flying to Cape Town, South Africa to begin working on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.
But… My husband Paul and I just discovered that we are expecting another baby!!!
So after a lot of discussion, we thought it would be in everyone’s best interest to wait till the baby is born before we set out to try and tackle an RE movie. Between the stunt work and what will become my ever-expanding belly, we didn’t think pregnancy and zombie killing are the best combo! Lol! I imagine the only thing I’ll be killing in the near future is an endless supply of cupcakes. Yikes…
In all seriousness though, we want to make the best movie possible and that would be extremely difficult, to say the least, in my present condition.
I would like to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who has been working so hard on the movie in South Africa already and we are so looking forward to working with you all next summer. And when we arrive, it will hopefully be with the newest member of our little family! YAY!
Before I go, i want to also send one more HUGE thank you out to all my amazing fans who have been so patient waiting for the next installment of the RE franchise! YOU ROCK!
Thanks so much for understanding everyone! All the best! -m”
