Lionsgate have acquired Henry Hobson’s feature debut ‘Maggie. The movie was all set to make its first appearance at this weeks Toronto International Film Festival but will now unfortunately not be screening. The apocalyptic zombie flick is being lined up for a theatrical run across the US in early 2015. It stars Abigail Breslin (‘The Call’) in the title role as the infected daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s (‘End of Days’) character. The movie shot in New Orleans, which Arnie will be co-producing as well, also stars British milf Joely Richardson (‘Nip/Tuck’, ‘Vampire Academy’).
“A deadly zombie virus has put a plague on the world. When Maggie, a vivacious young woman becomes infected, her father brings her home to let her be with their family. As Maggie’s condition worsens, their relationship is tested, a father’s love holding on stronger than the disease. This heart-wrenching twist on the zombie apocalypse puts a human face on an inexplicable horror.”
