Author Saurav Dutt, the man behind this Summer’s hit horror spin-off ‘Pazuzu Unbound’, is back with his latest genre offering just in time for the Halloween season. Dutt’s previous tale based on the terrifying demon Pazuzu featured in William Peter Blatty’s classic novel ‘The Exorcist’ arrived this past July to some excellent criticial acclaim and positive fan feedback. His latest effort ‘Cannibal Metropolis’ is slated for release this Halloween and will be available on Kindle, Nook, iTunes and Kobo as well as paperback. When a cannibalistic tribe get bioengineered into mutated killing machines with the sole basis of using them for military purposes things go more than awry when a test programme leads to the escape of the creatures into the New York sewer system.
With a myriad of talents under his hat that includes writing, producing and photography to name a few author Saurav Dutt is hoping that his latest original novel will take audiences on another new terrifying journey this time through urban survival which reflects this current landscape of “war and societal turmoil”. Dutt is a long standing admirer of Ruggero Deodato’s infamous and seminal Cannibal Holocaust which inspired his ‘urban’ slant on the genre. His back catalogue of work can be found in paperback, hardback and Kindle formats at Amazon, Waterstones and Barnes & Noble.
“A savage and bloodthirsty cannibal tribe is being herded for a barbarous and sadistic military purpose. Bioengineered with chemical agents and bacterial viruses the resulting mutations are being bred, trained and deployed alongside rogue war contractors in the Middle East at the behest of the Pentagon-creating the ultimate heart eating, head chopping and throat cutting cannibalistic killing machine.
When a field test programme using the creatures in a battlefield scenario goes horrifically wrong the creatures escape into the depths of the New York sewers, pursued and stalked by their creators desperate to conceal their existence. With their hunger satiated, their bloodlust uninhibited they will stop at nothing to quench their hunger to annihilate, mutilate and destroy anything in their path.
Amidst a toxic swirl of public rage against ongoing war and societal turmoil, thousands of protestors have congregated at Wall Street unaware of the terror directly beneath which is determined to rise above ground intending to slaughter everything in sight. As the hunter becomes the hunted, the innocent find themselves trapped in the heart of an urban slaughterhouse, with only the brave and the merciless able to fight for survival as relentless bloody carnage tears through the city.”
