The extraordinary feature debut from Spanish writer and directors Luis Piedrahita and Rodrigo Sopena, FERMAT’S ROOM is a quirky and beautifully executed mathematical thriller that recalls the tension of ‘Cube’ and ‘Saw’.
FERMAT’S ROOM revolves around four supposed strangers and expert mathematicians who have been invited by the unknown and mysterious Fermat, to a prestigious gathering set in a comfortable and ambient room within an isolated house. With the door firmly shut behind them, they are sent a variety of enigmas via a PDA to solve and test their intelligence. However, it is not long until they discover they are locked in and providing incorrect answers to the problems causes the walls to move inwards, shrinking the room and threatening to crush all inside. With no obvious way out and the riddles becoming progressively demanding and more difficult to solve, they realise the highly likely probability of fatal consequences.
FERMAT’S ROOM (cert. 15) will be released on DVD (£14.99) by Revolver Entertainment on 7th September 2009. To be in with a chance of winning your own copy on DVD simply enter your details below!
