MANDARIN DATING DEATH
Variety reports that Hong Kongs Mandarin Films recently lensed DATING DEATH, with plans to release it to HK theaters in the first half of this year. Directed by Herman Yau, whose credits include THE UNTOLD STORY, EBOLA SYNDROME and the first six in the long-running supernatural TROUBLESOME NIGHT series, the movie is about a group of friends who receive invitations to a mysterious reunion, but after they arrive, horrible things begin to happen to them. The leads are HK pop star Edwin Siu (who also appears in THE PARK, being released on DVD in the U.S. April 20) and the girl group Cookiesfollowing in the footsteps of the singing duo Twins, who star in VAMPIRE EFFECT (a.k.a. TWINS EFFECT), coming to Stateside video March 23.
