DEAD KIDS LIVE IN ODYSSEY PROJECTS
Variety reports that film sales company Odyssey Entertainment has announced a pair of similarly themed horror projects among its new film slate. The bigger of the two is DEATHS OF IAN, a $15-million project to be produced by FX wizard Stan Winston and Brian Gilbert, about a teenager who is murdered every day by supernatural pursuers and wakes up in a different life each time. Dario Piana, an Italian commercials veteran who has also been attached to the DMX-starrer WEREWOLF for Phoenix Pictures and Millennium Films supernatural thriller SNAKESKIN, will helm the film, scheduled to roll this fall. Odyssey is also behind an Irish zombie comedy called BOY EATS GIRL, which sounds vaguely similar to MY BOYFRIENDS BACK: Derek Landys script is about a boy who declares his love for his girlfriend, only to die the same night. He is brought back to life by his mother as a flesh-craving zombie, who sires more teen undead while trying to control his, er, appetite for his beloved. Stephen Bradley will direct the $5-million film, with singer-turned-actress Samantha (THE TIME MACHINE) Mumba starring.
