DEAD & BREAKFAST CASTING
Gore has been sorely lacking in films of the last few years. Wet, visceral, chunky action surrounded by a smart plot and plenty of shocks. Seen any films like that lately? Me neither. Well, hopefully 03 will change the genre a bit.
Last week, the Hollywood Reporter confirmed some casting choices made for the horror comedy Dead & Breakfast (cute) written and directed by Matthew Leutwyler. We wanted to run a story right away, but first we wanted to know a little bit more about the projectso we looked into it a bit.
The fairly simple story concerns a group of folks who break down in their RV while away on a trip. Looking for a place to crash, they invade a local Bed & Breakfast where a string of deaths pit our gang as prime suspects. But before any justice is carried out by the local law enforcement, supernatural forces begin to make themselves apparent, forcing our leads to stand their ground and fight for their lives in the B & B. Obvious inspiration fueling the project is Evil Dead 2 and from what the Corner is hearing, the project promises to deliver the visceral goodies. Decapitations, eye-goring, chainsaw-fu, undead creatures, and blood, blood, BLOOD (!) are all on the Dead & Breakfast menu.
Sound delicious? Good, here are the poor suckers, ahem, actors who are gonna be bathing in grue during principal photography: Jeremy Sisto (May), Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls), Billy Burke (24 he also co-wrote the film with Leutwyler), Gina Phillips (Jeepers Creepers), Bianca Lawson (Bones), David Carradine, Erik Palladino (U-571), Oz Perkins (Psycho II he played little Norman), and Vincent Ventresca (Sci-Fi Channels The Invisible Man).
