As first revealed by FANGORIA here, Xavier (HITMAN) Gens’ French bloodbath FRONTIERE(S) will be released Stateside with an NC-17 rating, and Fango have learnt it will arrive May 2 from After Dark Films, “Unchanged in any shape or form,” according to executive vice president Stephanie Caleb. The scope of the release depends on the number of theaters willing to show a ballsy NC-17 film like FRONTIERE(S), which Fango blogster Chris Alexander called “a French TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE…with Nazis” and “the single most harrowing, operatically insane, blood-spattered exercise in psychodrama these hardened eyes have ever witnessed…a masterpiece of mad moviemaking.” You can read further about FRONTIERE(S) here and in the pages of FANGORIA this spring. Trust us, folks—FRONTIERE(S), along with fellow Gallic stunner INSIDE (screening in conjunction with Fango’s Austin con, January 19-20) redefine the modern splatter film and will have you screaming like babies.
