Tyler Tharpe has shared some brand new news on the new anthology feature flick ‘Double Dose of Terror’.
Previously referred to as ‘Hung by a Thread’, ‘Double Dose of Terror’ has a twisted history. Tharpe explains “I wanted to keep the creative juices flowing in between features, so I contacted my friend Michael Todd Schneider, who collaborated on the score and special effects for ‘Return in Red’, and asked if he wanted to make a couple of horror shorts with me to include in a feature-length anthology. He said he was in, and asked his filmmaking buddy Alan Rowe Kelly to contribute a segment.“
“So two years later, long story short, Alan had to pull his film due to an obligation with his financial backer,” Tharpe continues. “So Michael and I decided to go with our two movies and name it ‘Double Dose of Terror’!! Both of our contributions are very loosely connected, with characters appearing in both. Length was an issue when Alan pulled his segment out, so we’re co-directing and filming a wraparound later this month that will appear in the film.”
Tharpe is helming one half entitled ‘Bowling Night’ that focuses on two men driving to a bowling alley, with one having just killed his wife and the other carrying a dark secret of his own.
And Michael Todd Schneider’s entry ‘Let’s Make..A Horror Movie’ is about the true terrors the befall a group of filmmakers struggling to produce a genre flick.
