Seth Grahame-Smith, author of the popular zombie themed tale ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ – currently in development, has a second project coming to the big screen based on his book ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’. The question on everyone’s blood-stained lips is just who is going to play big Abe? We’ve had the likes of ‘Inception’ and ‘Bronson’ star Tom Hardy in the frame. We’ve also had Aussie Eric Bana’s name thrown around. But now it seems Deadline have thrown a few more names intot the vampiric fray in the form of Oscar winning actor Adrien Brody (‘Splice’, ‘Predators’ – another Fox project) along with Josh Lucas (‘Hulk’), James D’Arcy (‘Rise’), Benjamin Walker (‘Flags of our Fathers’), and Oliver Jackson-Cohen (‘The Raven’). So it appears we’re non the wiser on exactly which of these guys will become sworn in as the legendary President in the Timur Bekmambetov (‘Wanted’, ‘Night Watch’) directed horror action flick.
“When Abraham Lincoln was nine years old, his mother died from an ailment called the “milk sickness.” Only later did he learn that his mother’s deadly affliction was actually the work of a local vampire, seeking to collect a debt owed by Lincoln’s father. When Abe learned the truth, he vowed revenge and kept one passion hidden throughout his life: the brutal elimination of all vampires. His valiant, bloody fight against the undead was all but lost to history, until Grahame-Smith stumbled upon the secret journal of Abraham Lincoln.
Using the journal as his guide, Seth reconstructs Lincoln’s life story and uncovers the role vampires played in the birth, growth, and near-death of our nation. You don’t know Abe. Honest.”
