Well shut my mouth! Earlier this week we bought you news that Aussie actress Robin McLeavy (‘The Loved Ones’) was “sitting pretty in negotiations” to play the part of Abe’s wife Mary Todd in Timur Bekmambetov’s (‘Wanted’, ‘Night Watch’) new adaption of ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’. However, according to the Hollywood Reporter, its’ been snatched from right under her nose. The undeniably gorgeous and uber-hottie Mary Elizabeth Winstead (‘Final Destination 3’, ‘Death Proof’ and the upcoming prequel ‘The Thing’) has won the part! Recently seen as Ramona in Edgar Wright’s fun-fest ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World’ Mary is set to join actor Benjamin Walker – who’ll be taking on the title role – and he must have a damn big smile on his face right now! Actors Dominic Cooper and Anthony Mackie are also set to star in the Seth Grahame-Smith adaption. Check out the mouth-watering Mary below!
“When Abraham Lincoln was nine years old, his mother died from an ailment called the “milk sickness.” Only later did he learn that his mother’s deadly affliction was actually the work of a local vampire, seeking to collect a debt owed by Lincoln’s father. When Abe learned the truth, he vowed revenge and kept one passion hidden throughout his life: the brutal elimination of all vampires. His valiant, bloody fight against the undead was all but lost to history, until Grahame-Smith stumbled upon the secret journal of Abraham Lincoln. Using the journal as his guide, Seth reconstructs Lincoln’s life story and uncovers the role vampires played in the birth, growth, and near-death of our nation. You don’t know Abe. Honest.”
The presidential slaying commences in ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’ on 22 June 2012.
