Here’s hoping that ‘Underworld’ director Len Wiseman’s ‘Total Recall’ redo is action-packed sci-fi fun. Fingers crossed also that it’s a little clearer to follow than Paul Verhoeven’s 1990 original. And now courtesy of The Film Stage we get our first proper look at Arnie replacement Colin Farrell (‘Fright Night’) as Quaid on the new production. Revealed ahead of EW’s latest issue we get out peek at Farrell being held up at gun point. The fit as f#ck Jessica Biel (‘The A-Team’) stars along with award-winning ‘Breaking Bad’ star Bryan Cranston who is on board to play the role of the notorious Cohaagen. The new version will be based more directly on Philip K. Dick’s sci-fi tale ‘We Can Remember It for You Wholesale’. Check out the new pic below.
“Total Recall is a new, contemporized reimagining of the science fiction saga. The film will be directed by Len Wiseman and produced by Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe, with Ric Kidney on-board as executive producer. The short story “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick served as the source for the 1990 Motion Picture screen story by Ronald Shusett & Dan O’Bannon and Jon Povill and screenplay by Ronald Shusett & Dan O’Bannon and Gary Goldman, with the updated screenplay being written by Kurt Wimmer and Mark Bomback and James Vanderbilt.”
‘Total Recall’ is expected for a 3 August 2012 release.
