Dimension Films have announced that they’ll be touching down the ‘Apollo 18′ DVD and Blu-ray release from 27 December in the US. So fantastic if you want to ring in the new year but just too late to give as a gift for Christmas. The Blu-ray will be one of these triple play editions that comes complete with a DVD and Digital copy of the flick. The special features included on the disc will be an audio commentary with the movies’ Spanish director Gonzalo López-Gallego and also editor Patrick Lussier (‘Drive Angry 3D’). There’s also room for some deleted and alternate scenes as well as alternate endings. Apparently there’ll be a few more bits and bobs on the disc as well. We’d imagine a making of documentary and possibly some ‘actual’ history surrounding the moon landings). Check out the proposed artwork for the Blu-ray below.
“Officially, Apollo 17, launched December 17th, 1972 was the last manned mission to the moon. But a year later, in December of 1973, two American astronauts were sent on a secret mission to the moon funded by the US Department of Defense. What you are about to see is the actual footage which the astronauts captured on that mission. While NASA denies its authenticity, others say it’s the real reason we’ve never gone back to the moon.”
UK fans can pick this up on disc from Boxing Day!
