Finally it appears that the feature adaption of entertaining graphic novel ‘Hack/Slash’ has locked in its director. German helmer Marcus Nispel, responsible for helming the 2003 ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ remake as well as 2009’s ‘Friday the 13th’ remake and a whole host of music videos, will be shooting his first comic book adaption. The novel from Tim Seeley and Stefao Caselli will follow the sexy Cassie Hack and her partner Vlad who travel the country hunting down slashers. Relativity picked up the film after Universal’s ex-Rogue Pictures outfit had dropped it. A whole host of writers have had a bash at the script which will still no doubt get a heap more rewrites and tweaks before it heads to production. Now we just have to track down a suitable (and hot) starlet to take on the role of the kick-ass Cassie Hack (below) – a shoe in for Megan Fox (‘Jennifer’s Body’) perhaps?
“‘Hack/Slash’ tells the ongoing adventures of Cassie Hack (daughter of the evil slasher known as The Lunch Lady), who rejected her mother’s murderous ways and instead devoted her life to hunting down slashers with her partner Vlad.”
