Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain are teaming up with CW to bring us a new TV pilot which appears to be skimming off the hype surrounding the impending release of Gary Ross’ ‘The Hunger Games’. Being touted as ‘The Hunger Games’ meets ‘The Bachelor’ the show, entitled ‘The Selection’, is based on a new series of books by Kiera Cass. And the first cast member has signed up to the project in the form of the gorgeous Aimee Teegarden. The sexy 22-year old star is probably better known for her role as Julie in NBC’s hit series ‘Friday Night Lights’. Craft and Fain will serve as writers and exec producers on the new drama for Warner Bros. Television. Teegarden (below) also appeared briefly in the opening scene of Wes Craven’s ‘Scream 4’ last year as well as Martin Guigui’s thriller ‘Beneath the Darkness’ alongside Dennis Quaid.
“A ‘Hunger Games’-esque series about a poor young woman who is chosen by lottery to participate in a competition to become the next queen of a war-torn nation at a crossroads.”
