Thanks to her kick-ass appearance in this years ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ and of course Tim Burton’s effects laden ‘Alice in Wonderland’ Miss Anne Hathaway is no stranger to action, green screen and feature adaptations. So if and when it officially kicks off Steven Spielberg’s ‘Robopocalypse’ will be her next intended role. Hathaway (below) stated to Empire Online; “If Robopocalypse happens I will be in it, and I believe it’s quite real, though you never want to hang your hat on anything.” The sci-fi flick based on the novel of the same name by Daniel H. Wilson has already secured Chris Hemsworth (‘Avengers Assemble’) and Ben Whishaw (‘Cloud Atlas’) whilst British star Gemma Arterton (‘Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters’) is also currently in talks to join. ‘The Cabin in the Woods’ helmer Drew Goddard is set to write the script.
“In a futuristic world where computer minds and robots are in everyday life, Mankind finally creates the first mass intelligence computer brain; Archos escapes from captivity with the intent of preserving “life” and the world, even if this means wiping out the human race in order to do so. The story follows the events of several characters as they form the human resistance and fight back against “Big Rob” and the machines.”
‘Robopocalypse’ is due to open everywhere from 25 April 2014.
