CAMPBELL SPEAKS OF WOODS
The always-quotable Bruce Campbell spoke to the Sci Fi Wire recently about his role in Lucky (May) McKee’s first studio film, The Woods. And, of course, he was good for a few chuckles.
‘I’m now out at that golden age where I get to play all the young heroines’ fathers…The story is a school girl’s worst nightmare come true. She’s being sent off to boarding school, which is horrible enough. And there are all these clichfears of what’ll happen. You’ll get raped or attacked or the woods will get you, and it all happens. So it’s this girl’s worst nightmare come true. I get in on the action a little bit. I come and go. But I actually live, which is amazing. I was fully expecting to die. Agnes [Brucker] has got a very interesting sensibility to her. Patricia Clarkson is the evil headmistress at the school. The film really should be called The Evil Women at the Evil School.’
Thought there has been some negative reviews floating around about the movie on the ‘net, already, the fact is Lucky’s still in the post-production stages on this and what those naysayers saw could be very different than what the public at large does.
The Woods opens on October 1st.
