CURSED & MORE RELEASE DATES
Variety reports that Dimension has settled (for now) on a number of debut dates for its 2004 genre films. Most pertinently, Wes Craven’s much-delayed CURSED is currently slated for an October 1 release, while Renny Harlin’s serial-killer trip MINDHUNTERS will be slashing onto screens June 4. Rather surprisingly, Jaume BalaguerDARKNESS, which for a while didn’t even look like it was going to make it to theaters, has now been given a prime summer slot: June 18. (No word on whether the director’s THE NAMELESS, which Dimension also owns for the U.S., will see the light of big or small Stateside screens.) And finally, Terry Gilliam’s supernatural epic THE BROTHERS GRIMM will be spooking the holiday season beginning November 19.
Meanwhile, it looks like MGM wants to give Dimension some competition: it has slotted Lucky (MAY) McKee’s THE WOODS for October 1 as well. We’ll see if either one blinks.
