TUNNICLIFFE PLAYING PINHEAD?
Got the heads up on a couple more short films that are turning heads – not in that ‘Linda Blair’ way, more in a ‘jeepers, that’s fine stuff’ sense – one a Superhero pic and another a new ‘Hellraiser’ pic.
The latter, ‘No More Souls’, is a 6-minute ‘Hellraiser’ film, Directed by (actually, he was also writer, director of photography and production designer) Gary J.Tunnicliffe, the creative-gun behind the big screen Pinhead series.
Filmed on a budget of about $2500 and shot at the Dark Inc workshops, the movie also stars Tunnicliffe as the pin-adorned rogue. ‘I would have loved Doug [Bradley] to have done this, but it was such a meager budget and he is based in the UK.so I took all of the lessons I have learnt from watching himand I just tried to do him justice’.
The storyline apparently sees ‘An Old and jaded Pinhead who in a post apocalyptic hell has No More Souls to harvestand only the fear of his own legion turning upon him’.
It’s so slick apparently that Dimension are going to add it to the impending DVD release of ‘Hellraiser : Deader’, the new full-length Hellraiser feature, due on disc in 2005.
I am delightedthis was such a fun project to create and everyone involved really got involved not for money or financial gain but really as a gift to me and for a love of the artand to them and to the fans I dedicate it
There’s a slew of images up for it at Gary’s site here.
One film we can check out ‘Now’ is the fabbo ‘Tomorrow’s Memoir’ from writer-director Jim Cliffe. The 27-minute short flys the flag for those comic avengers of yesteryear. It has a subtle, but slick twist too. Check it out at ifilm here.
