Big, huge, epic movie maker Roland Emmerich (Day After Tomorrow, Independence Day) may soon be returning to his tales of apocalypse.
Variety is reporting that Emmerich and Harald Kloser, who both developed the latest 10,000 B.C, have created a new spec in the genre called ‘2012’, which is getting shopped around Hollywood this week.
Various studio executives read the script on Tuesday and have expressed interest in arranging meetings with Emmerich & Kloser in working out the details like budget and creative aspirations.
If a deal goes through, the report says that Emmerich will have it in theaters by Summer 2009.
