    More on Craven’s Magick

Seems like we missed out on a lot of good things at this past weekend’s WonderCon in San Francisco, the most significant of which (so far) was the showing of a clip from this April’s release of Silent Hill. But to hear Wes Craven give a bit more insight into the upcoming bloody Vegas magic show he’s involved with would’ve been cool, as well.

Luckily Sci Fi Wire was on hand and were able to catch some more details from the man. As previously reported, Craven was approached to write the show by Riverdance director John McGolgan, who bought the rights to the bloody magic show that was playing in Dublin with a young magician. Dubbing it Wes Craven’s Magick Macabre, the duo have come up with what Wes describes as “a bloody magic show for an 1,800-seat theater in Las Vegas”

Adding to the creative cauldron is Mark Fisher, who’s designed some of the more elaborate Cirque de Soliel sets as well as working with the Rolling Stones on their Superbowl halftime show. “He brought in the guy who designed all of the illusions for Siegfried & Roy [David Mendoza] and put all of us into a room together,” Craven told those in attendance at WonderCon. “and we came up with [these] really terrific, scary, bloody, crazy ideas that we’re going to do for a big show to play in Vegas to scare the pants off of everybody.”

There’s no word on when or where the show will be debuting as it sounds as if it’s still in the planning stages right now. We’re keeping our ears to the ground for more and when we know it, you’ll know it!
