Get ready for the heart-pounding online premiere of House of Rooms on YouTube’s “Watch Movies Now” this Friday 15th September 2023 at 10 PM GMT!

Best of all, it’s FREE with some thrilling advertising in between (AVOD – Advertised Video on Demand). Don’t let this bone-chilling experience pass you by.

House of Rooms was Written by Alexander Pfander, Anthony Straeger and Directed by Alexander Pfander.

    Synopsis:

In a bid to revive his flagging career, a desperate TV director devises a macabre reality TV show that strands unsuspecting contestants within the eerie confines of a haunted location. Little do they realize that among them lurks a mole, working in tandem with the program director. As the contestants grapple with the supernatural and their own growing paranoia, the game transforms into a fight for survival, rife with unexpected twists once they discover there is a sinister killer lurking in the darkness. With each challenge, alliances form and fracture, and the line between reality and the staged horrors blurs. The director’s sinister manipulation culminates in a shocking revelation that alters the course of the deadly game into a fight for survival with an unexpected twist.

    DIRECTORS STATEMENT

House of Rooms is a project that holds a special place in my heart as a filmmaker. I wrote the script in Germany over 20 years ago. It was a time when reality TV shows were on the rise, and the horror genre was undergoing significant transformations. The initial inspiration for the story came from the collision of these two elements, exploring the thin line between reality and the horrifying unknown.

After several attempts to bring the project to life in the past, unforeseen challenges and circumstances led to the shelving of the script. However, the themes and ideas within the story remained hauntingly relevant throughout the years. The concept of voyeurism, the allure of reality TV, and the exploration of human psychology in the face of fear and danger have become more pertinent to the present day.

Two decades later, the opportunity to revisit House of Rooms emerged. Collaborating with an international team of talented and passionate individuals, we embarked on a journey to bring this story to the screen. The decision to film in November 2022 allowed us to fully embrace the atmospheric elements of the season, enhancing the tension and mood of the film.

With 13 intense days of shooting, mostly involving two units working seamlessly together, we overcame challenges and limitations to breathe life into the script. The collaborative effort and dedication of the entire team were truly inspiring. From the cast’s compelling performances to the crew’s unwavering commitment, we collectively worked to deliver an entertaining and thought-provoking experience for audiences.

House of Rooms is more than just a horror film; it reflects the blurred lines between reality and fabrication, all in the name of entertainment. The story delves into the darker aspects of human nature and the consequences of indulging our voyeuristic tendencies. As the director, my aim is to create an immersive and chilling experience that resonates with viewers long after they leave the theatre.

I am grateful for the opportunity to revisit this project after two decades, and I am proud of the team’s perseverance and creativity in bringing this story to life. I hope that House of Rooms will entertain audiences and also prompt them to question the influence of media and the consequences of our voyeuristic desires in an ever-changing world.
