Production on ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ has kicked off. 20th Century Fox revealed the news that shooting on the Matt Reeves (‘Let Me In’) helmed follow-up has commenced, and accompanying the news comes a brief official plot synopsis too. Motion capture master Andy Serkis (‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’) returns to fill the furry shoes of the computer generated Caesar whilst newbies Jason Clarke (‘Zero Dark Thirty’), Gary Oldman (‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’), Keri Russell – below (‘Dark Skies’), Toby Kebbell (‘Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time’), Kodi Smit-McPhee (‘ParaNorman’), Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo and Judy Greer are also on board.
“A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.”
