BARKER KEEPS HIS WORD & TERROR
Variety reports:
Clive Barker’s Midnight Picture Show label has teamed with Armada Pictures to produce the future-set horror thriller Plague.
Pic, penned by Hal Masonberg and Teal Minton and to be directed by Masonberg, is in pre-production for a February start.
Story concerns a mysterious apocalypse that has left the world’s children comatose and unresponsive. Trouble starts when the grownup kids wake up and lash out against their parents.
Barker, Jorge Saralegui and Tim O’Hair are producing the pic. Armada’s Chris Sievernich and Matt Milich will exec produce with MPS’ Joe Daley and Anthony Diblasi. DH Blair Pictures’ Michael Almog and Morton Davis also will exec produce.
Armada is handling worldwide sales to pic.
Midnight Picture Show is the joint venture between Barker’s Seraphim Films and Saralegui.
Barker is currently producing ‘Dread’ for 20th Century Fox based on his short story of the same name. He’s also penning ‘Tortured Souls’ for Universal; he is attached to direct the project.
