Fango got a tip that eighth and last film to be lined up for the After Dark Horror Fest, which runs in theaters nationwide the weekend of November 17-19, is a chiller called WICKED LITTLE THINGS. Never heard of it, you say? We didn’t think we had either, until a quick jaunt around the Internet revealed that this is the movie that was originally called ZOMBIES, with Tobe Hooper directing from a script by his TOOLBOX MURDERS collaborators Adam Gierasch and Jace Anderson. All three wound up departing the project, which was rewritten by Ben Nadivi and helmed by THE FORSAKEN director/THE COVENANT scripter J.S. Cardone (pictured with FORSAKEN’s Johnathon Schaech) under the title THE CHILDREN, before it was ultimately rechristened with the WICKED tag.
The plot follows a woman (THE IN CROWD’s Lori Heuring) who takes her two daughters (Scout Taylor-Compton and THE AMITYVILLE HORROR’s Chloe Moretz) to live in a house in the mountains that she has inherited from the family of her recently deceased husband. An old mine nearby was the site of a horrible incident decades before in which a number of children were buried alive, and now the dead kids are getting restless… Geoffrey (THE DEVIL’S REJECTS) Lewis co-stars.
