Xenomorphs and Bigfoot. Lance Henriksen can’t seem to shake either of ’em.
Dread Central has been given a first look at the veteran genre actor’s latest, Devil on the Mountain from Grizzly Peak Films. Directed by Steven R. Monroe and penned by Michael Worth (pictured with Henriksen), Mountain is being touted as an action-oriented “authentically researched Bigfoot film.” Shooting took place in Northern California including Willow Creek, an area of the state where a man named Roger Patterson reportedly spotted a Bigfoot and captured the strolling beast on celluloid (we’ve all seen the footage).
Henriksen’s role in Mountain is based loosely on Patterson; he has also appeared in similar hairy apeman flicks such as Sasquatch (a.k.a. The Untold) and Abominable.
As for the rest of the cast, other Bigfoot chasers include Craig Wasson (A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors), Cerrina Vincent (Cabin Fever), Tim Thomerson (Near Dark), Rance Howard (father of Ron and last seen in Toolbox Murders) and Karen Kim.
Monroe and Worth recently completed directing and writing duties, respecitively, on Left in Darkness starring Monica Keena (Freddy vs. Jason). Look for Devil on the Mountain sometime next year.
