AMC have confirmed that an old character from ‘The Walking Dead’ will return in season 3 after much speculation of his whereabouts. After being left for dead cuffed on a rooftop in the first season Merle Dixon (Michael Rooker) had no choice but to cut off his own hand to escape the shuffling undead and hasn’t been seen since. Apart from popping up briefly in season 2 as a vision seen by his brother Daryl (played by Norman Reedus) the one-handed one has been MIA. But a new image of Merle sporting a nicely crafted arm attachment has been revealed assuring fans that he’ll return in this years new season. ‘The Walking Dead’ stars Andrew Lincoln (‘Love Actually’), Laurie Holden (‘Silent Hill’), Steven Yeun, Sarah Wayne Callies (‘Prison Break’) and Lauren Cohan (‘Supernatural’). Check out the new look Merle below!
“‘The Walking Dead’ follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, who travel in search of a safe and secure home. The comic goes on to explore the challenges of life in a world overrun by zombies who take a toll on the survivors, and sometimes the interpersonal conflicts present a greater danger to their continuing survival than the zombies that roam the country. Over time, the characters are changed by the constant exposure to death and some grow willing to do anything to survive.”
AMC will feature a ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 3 preview weekend on 7-8 July.
