Sanchez Chats About ’30 Days of Night’ Sequel

Hottie actress Kiele Sanchez (‘Lost’, ‘A Perfect Getaway’) will soon be seen in the direct to DVD release of vampire sequel ’30 Days of Night: Dark Days’. She has taken over the role of Stella Oleson, played by the equally smoking Melissa George in the original. The DVD arrives on shelves next month in the US and here in the UK, courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, and Kiele has been chatting with Dread Central all about her experiences on the flick. Sanchez co-stars alongside Rhys Coiro, Doira Baird, Harold Parrineau, Mia Kirschner, Ben Cotton, Troy Ruptash and Katherine Isabelle. Check out what she had to say below.

“I think that in the first graphic novel that Stella starts off as so different (from the sequel) that it gave me a lot of freedom to sort of do it my own way”, – said Sanchez of the character of Stella, a woman whose husband Eben (played in the original by Josh Hartnett) and townsfolk met their grisly end in the original film in the Alaskan town of Barrow. “I think that also the fact that there’s been eleven months (of narrative) between the end of the first film and this one that there’s been a lot of transformation that happened to Stella over that time period, so that also gave me a lot of freedom to pick up in a different place”, continued Sanchez. “Not just because it’s a different actress that is playing the character, but because Stella is in a different place”.

You can check out the full interview with Kiele Sanchez over at Dread Central.

“It’s been almost a year since the Alaskan town of Barrow’s population was decimated by vampires during its annual month-long sunset. Riddled with grief over the death of her husband, bound by nightmares and void of all emotions beyond hate and sorrow, Stella has spent the past months traveling the world, trying to convince others that vampires exist. A group of lost souls offers Stella an incredible opportunity: the chance to exact revenge upon Lilith, the vampire queen responsible for the assault on Stella’s sleepy Alaskan town. With nothing remaining to live for, and nothing left to fear, Stella joins their mission and ventures into the uncharted underbelly of Los Angeles where she pushes herself to the most extreme limits to stop the evil from striking again.”

Don’t forget to check out our new ’30 Days of Night: Dark Days’ DVD giveaway, and you can catch the follow-up on DVD in the US on 5 October and here in the UK on 11 October.

So out of the two girls who each played Stella, who’s the best?
