Following news that the incredible success story ‘The Walking Dead’ would return to AMC for a second season this year it was inevitable that some of the more big name director’s would be interested in getting involved. So step forward Brit director Edgar Wright. Wright, known for his great work on ‘Hot Fuzz’ and the TV series ‘Spaced (with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost) and of course more recently on ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World’ has reportedly been asked by Frank Darabont to helm an epsiode in the upcoming season. According to Collider Wright (whom has of course worked with the undead previously on the fantastic horror-comedy ‘Shaun of the Dead’) isn’t overly sure though at the moment whether it’ll be something he’ll do. ‘The Walking Dead’ stars Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Michael Rooker, Norman Reedus, Jeffrey DeMunn, Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun and Sarah Wayne Callies. Check out what Edgar had to say below.
Edgar Wright says:
“Well, I really enjoyed the first season,” he tells Collider. “I wouldn’t wanna be the guy that comes in and f#cks it up.”
Here’s the plot:
“‘The Walking Dead’ follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, who travel in search of a safe and secure home. The comic goes on to explore the challenges of life in a world overrun by zombies who take a toll on the survivors, and sometimes the interpersonal conflicts present a greater danger to their continuing survival than the zombies that roam the country. Over time, the characters are changed by the constant exposure to death and some grow willing to do anything to survive.”
Will Edgar Wright Tackle ‘The Walking Dead’?
