Tartan Films has picked up North American rights to South Korean horror pic The Red Shoes, by helmer Kim Yong-gyun, according to Variety. Pic is repped by Cineclick Asia, which had previously licensed it to Tartan for the U.K. Tartan topper Hamish McAlpine said he will give the pic its theatrical release in the spring. Film, an adaptation of the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, was released in Korea in June and grossed more than $9.5 million.
