Her desire to act was originally halted by the Vietnam war when she had to make a pivot from the film industry to the Army. Sonia plays Mama in the in Shawn C. Phillips’ horror film, DESERT FIENDS. The movie is about six friends on their way to a concert break down in the middle of nowhere and encounter a deranged family that lives in the desert killing anyone they come across.
She returns to work with Phillips in the new film, SKATE TO HELL where she plays Sandy. In SKATE TO HELL, The Devil has created a cursed skateboard for his son which allows him to visit earth. After a group of teens steal the board, the Devil returns to earth to find his missing son and retrieve the board, by any means necessary.
