Gorgeous actress Stephanie Leigh Schlund (below) is the latest name to be tossed in the ever largening hat of cast members on board ‘The Hunger Games’ sequel ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’. Schlund will take on the role of Cashmere, a former Career tribute from District 1 who will compete in the Quarter Quell. Cashmere is the sister of Gloss, the character set to be played by Alan Ritchson (‘Blue Mountain State’). In addition to this piece of casting news Lionsgate have also revealed that Maria Howell has joined the cast to play Seeder. The sci-fi action sequel will also star Jennifer Lawrence (‘X-Men: First Class’), Josh Hutcherson (‘Detention’), Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks (‘Man on a Ledge’), Woody Harrelson (‘2012’), Phillip Seymour Hoffman (‘Red Dragon’), Amanda Plummer (‘Pulp Fiction’), Jena Malone (‘The Ruins’), Alan Ritchson, Bruno Gunn, Maria Howell, E. Roger Mitchell and Lynn Cohen.
“THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.”
The shoot is set to kick off next month for a 22 November 2013 release.
