At first glance it may look like a case of ADHD getting out of control but take a closer look in this still from Ole Bornedal’s new demonic horror ‘The Possession’. Stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan (‘The Losers’, ‘The Resident’) and Kyra Sedgwick (‘Man on a Ledge’) do their best to restrain their possessed daughter, played by Madison Davenport, who is quite literally going mental as a Rabbi (played by Jewish singer/rapper Matisyahu) does his best to expel the demon inside. The Ghost House Pictures production is heading our way in late August and revolves around the Leslie Gornstein penned article entitled “A Jinx In A Box” which featured in a July 2004 edition of the LA Times. Check the new still below.
“Based on true events, ‘The Possession’ is the terrifying story of how one family must unite in order to survive the wrath of an unspeakable evil. Clyde (Morgan) and Stephanie Brenek (Sedgwick) see little cause for alarm when their youngest daughter Em becomes oddly obsessed with an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. But as Em’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic, the couple fears the presence of a malevolent force in their midst, only to discover that the box was built to contain a dibbuk, a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host.”
‘The Possession’ arrives in theatres on 31 August.
